The Sabarna Roy Choudhury family's Aatchala puja at Barisha — widely regarded as the oldest Durga Puja in Kolkata, predating the city itself.
This is one of Kolkata's bonedi bari (aristocratic household) Durga Pujas — celebrated privately inside a family thakurdalan rather than a public pandal. Visitors are welcome during the puja days; dress conservatively and ask permission before photographing family members.
